Lenten Tea

Today we had a Lenten tea. The children really enjoyed it. i found this wonderful idea at Cotttage Blessings

and also Shower of Roses

we started with:

"Palm on The Road"

Round crackers topped with mayonnaise and pieces of hearts of plam.

Holy week begins with Palm Sunday as Jesus was recieved in Jerusalem.

"And many spread their garments on the road, and others spread leafy branches which they had cut from the fields" Mark 11:8

"Costly Oil"

"And truly , I say to you, wherever the gospel is preached in the whole world , what she has done will be told in memory of her" Mark 14:9

"Thirty Pieces of Silver" ( round provolone cheese)

" Then one of the twelve, who was called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests and said, What will you give me if I deliver himto you ? And they paid him 30 pieces of silver" Mathew 25:14-15

"The Cook Crows Twice" ( deli roasted chicken)

"Unleavened Bread"

"And on the first day of unleavened bread , when they sacrificed the Passover lamb , His disciples said to Him, Where will you have us go and prepare for you to eat the passover?" Mark 14:12

"Gethsemane Figs"

"And they went to a place which was called Gethsemane ; and He said to His disciples sit here, while I pray" Mark 14:32

"Clouds of Heaven"

" And Jesus said, I am : and you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of Heaven" mark 14:62

"Saint Peter's Tears" ( green tea mints)
