Harmony Tahini Salad Dressing

This light and nutty salad dressing recipe was found at http://www.recipezaar.com/ . I loved how flavorful and light this dressing was.
1 cup tahini


1/2 bunch fresh curly-leaf parsley (chopped)

1/3 cup lemon juice

4 crushed garlic cloves

1/8 cup tamari soy sauce

2 cups water

1 cup canola oil

Blend all ingredients and store in refrigerator.

Mandarin Almond Salad

1 head romaine lettuce( rinsed, drained and chopped)
2 ( 11 oz.) cans mandarin oranges, drained
6 green onions, thinly sliced
2 T white sugar
1/2 C sliced almonds
1/4 C red wine vinegar
1/2 C olive oil
1 T white sugar
salt and pepper to taste

In a bowl combine the romaine lettuce, oranges and green onions. Heat 2 T sugar with the almonds in a skillet over medium heat. Stir constantly until almonds are light brown. Set aside to cool. Combine red wine vinegar, oil and sugar. Stir until combined and sugar is disolved. Before serving , toss lettuce with salad dressing. Seson with salt and pepper.

Jo's italian SAlad Dressing


1/2 C wine vinegar
1 C vegetable oil]
salt and pepper to taste
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
3/4 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning
2 T fresh basil
1/4 tsp. onion powder. Whisk all ingredients together and chill before serving.

Taco Salad




First you need to make the tortilla bowls:


Preheat oven to 350 degrees f. Spray front and back of each tortilla with cooking spray. On a cookie sheet place 6 oven safe bowls. Flip bowls over and "mold" each tortilla to the shape of the bowl. Bake in the oven for 13 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.


Next make the salad dressing:


In a large bowl blend together:2 c mayonnaise, 1 c ketchup and 2 T taco seasoning. Mix together and chill.


For the tacos:


Brown ground beef in a skillet , season with salt and pepper. Drain and serve.




Serve with shredded iceberg lettuce, jalapenos, shredded cheddar cheese, black beans and rice, chopped olives, chopped tomatoes, sliced bell peppers. and hot sauce.

Beet Salad


For this salad: In a skillet heat olive oil and add 1 C chopped, roasted beets. heat for 10 minutes to soften. Add 1/2 C walnut and cook for about 5 monnutes over low- medium heat. Season with salt and pepper. Toss with 1/2 c crumbled blue cheese and serve. Can be served hot or cold.

Buffalo Chicken stips and Blue Cheese Salad


The salad dressing was very mild and easy to make and the chicken was moist and delicious. The only change i made was using a bagged salad instead of the romaine.

Lemon Ginger Dressing


1 dash granulated garlic

1 tsp. jarred, minced ginger

1 tsp. sugar

1/2 tsp. dried marjoram

1/2 tsp. dried basil

salt&pepper to taste

1/2 tsp. red pepper sauce

1/4 C vegetable oil

2T sesame oil

1/4 C fresh lemin juice

Mix above ingredients and chill until you are ready to serve.

Asian Ginger Dressing




1/4 C. vegetable oil


2 Tbsp. rice wine vinegar


1 Tbsp. water


1 Tbsp. minced ginger


1 Tbsp. chopped celery


1 Tbsp. mishroom soy sauce


1 1/2 tsp. tomato paste


1 1/2 tsp. sugar1 tsp. lemon juice


1/2 tsp. salt


pepper to taste


1 dash of granulated garlic
Combine all ingredients in a blender. Process until almost smooth. Any unused portions may be stored in a covered container in the refrigerator.

Greek Salad


we tried a new tasty Greek salad dressing tonight. I will make this again.

Mediterranean blend bag salad

Feta cheese

Kalamata olives

For the dressing:

2 tblsp minced onion (or to taste)

1 tblsp Parmesan cheese

11/2 tsp salt

½ tsp Worcestershire sauce

½ tsp dry mustard

½ tsp Basil

l½ tsp oregano

2 tsp sugar

Ground pepper to taste

¼ cup red wine vinegar

1 tblsp lemon juice

Blend all ingredients except vinegar and lemon juice in blender for 30seconds. Add vinegar and juice then blend another 30 seconds. Store covered in the refrigerator.

Insalata Di Arance


"A specialty of the Abruzzi, in the south of Italy, this unusual salad is served on Christmas Eve. "
Oranges, peeled, sliced thin
Freshly ground black pepper
Olive oil
Arrange the orange slices on a platter. Grind the pepper over the slices and generously drizzle olive oil on top. Let the oranges marinate for 1/2 hour or more before serving.

Lemon Ginger Dressing


In a measuring cup whisk together: 1 dash of granulated garlic, 2T freshly grated ginger, 1 tsp. sugar, 1/2 tsp. dried marjoram, 1/2 tsp. dried badsil salt and pepper to taste, 1T green jalapeno sauce, 1/4 C vegetable, oil, 2T sesame oil, 1/4 C lemon juice. Very mild flavor and this dressing goes great with Asian food.

Ancini de Pepe (Frog's Eye) Salad


1/2 lb. Anini de Pepe
3 C fruit cocktail
2 tbsp. flour
3/4 C sugar
2 eggs
1 container Cool Whip

Cook macaroni as directed on package .Drain pasta, do not rinse. Beat together sugar, flour and eggs in a double boiler cook until thick, stirring constantly. Add to cooked macaroni. Let set overnight in refrigerator. Next day add fruit and Cool Whip; mix together
