Makeover Multigrain Waffles


Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup cornmeal
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 eggs
4 egg whites
3 cups buttermilk
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
3 tablespoons canola oil
2 tablespoons butter, melted
Butter and maple syrup, optional
Directions:
In a large bowl, combine the first seven ingredients. In another bowl, whisk the eggs, egg whites, buttermilk, applesauce, oil and butter; whisk into dry ingredients just until blended.
Bake in a preheated waffle iron according to manufacturer's directions until golden brown. Serve with butter and syrup if desired

That is the cutest waffle iron ever! I think these waffles would make a fantastic breakfast.

Thank you for stopping by. The iron has a chicken, a pig, a cow and a barn. The waffles were tasty and everyone here enjoyed them.
